Itinerary

Departure at 9:00 AM from your hotel or riad in Ouarzazate.
Begin your journey heading east toward the Skoura Palm Grove, where a stop at the beautifully preserved Kasbah Amridil offers a glimpse into traditional southern Moroccan architecture and history.
Continue through an ever-changing landscape of desert plateaus, orchards, and valleys. A short walk through a lush palm grove allows you to admire kasbahs nestled among gardens and crops. During spring, you’ll pass through El KelaaM'Gouna, the famous Valley of Roses, where the fragrant scent of blooming roses fills the air and rose products abound.
As you approach BoumalneDades, a panoramic viewpoint unveils the stunning Dades River winding through a canyon of ochre cliffs and poplar trees — the gateway to the Dades Gorges. Here, many nomadic families still live with their herds among the rock formations.
Your adventure continues along the Boutharar trail, taking you off-road toward the Aït Youl Kasbah, once the stronghold of Caïd Glaoui. From this vantage point, enjoy a breathtaking view of the entire valley.
The journey then leads to M’Samrir, a picturesque Berber village tucked deep in the mountains, before heading to the heart of the Dades Gorges. Enjoy a traditional lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a walk along the river to soak in the spectacular scenery.
On the return route to Ouarzazate, stop at KelaaM’Gouna, famous for its rosewater cooperatives.
Return to Ouarzazate by approximately 5:30 PM.
