Departure at 8:30 AM from your accommodation in Ouarzazate.
Your excursion begins with a scenic drive to the Kasbah of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most striking fortified villages in Morocco. Adorned with geometric motifs and ancient architecture, this ksar has served as a filming location for numerous Hollywood movies.
After exploring the maze-like alleys and admiring the mudbrick towers, continue your off-road journey along a picturesque trail passing through traditional Berber villages clinging to the mountainsides.
Next, arrive at the Kasbah of Telouet, a magnificent yet lesser-known gem nestled high in the Atlas Mountains. Once a strategic hub along the trans-Saharan trade route, Telouet served as the stronghold of Thami El Glaoui, the powerful Pasha of Marrakech.
Built in the 16th century and lavishly expanded during the early 20th century, the kasbah features ornately carved stucco, colorful zellige tilework, and painted cedar wood ceilings. Although much of the complex is in ruins today, two rooms remain impressively intact, giving a glimpse into its former grandeur.
Enjoy a traditional lunch on site, followed by a guided tour of the kasbah and its remarkable history, including its controversial colonial-era role.
Return to Ouarzazate by approximately 5:00 PM.
