Itinerary
09:00 AM – Pick-Up from Agadir Port
For cruise ship passengers, we’ll pick you up directly from the Agadir Port. We’ll assist with the port access permit and get you started on a fascinating journey through Agadir.
09:15 AM – The Promenade des Berbères and Tourist Sector
Take a leisurely stroll through the beachfront promenade lined with cafes and restaurants. This area is exclusive to tourism, featuring lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and magnificent views of the ocean. It’s an ideal place to walk or relax by the sea.
09:45 AM – Visit to Agadir Port
Head to the world’s leading sardine port and the largest fishing port in Morocco. Visit the bustling fish market (auction) and watch the process of fishing boats being repaired and restored in the boatyards. Although the port is closed to tourists in some areas, this stop still provides insight into the local maritime culture and commerce. Experience the vibrant atmosphere and perhaps indulge in fresh seafood at the nearby restaurants (own expense).
10:30 AM – The Kasbah (Agadir Oufella)
Visit the Kasbah, or Citadel, perched on a hilltop 236 meters above sea level. Built in the 16th century by the Portuguese, this historic site offers breathtaking panoramic views of Agadir, its famous 9 km long beach, and the city itself. Learn about the history and cultural significance of this fortress that survived the 1960 earthquake.
11:00 AM – The Old and Residential Districts
Explore the residential areas of Agadir, including the modern districts like Cité Suisse, Nouveau Founty, and Talborjt, which were rebuilt after the 1960 earthquake. You will also pass through the remnants of the older districts, which were entirely destroyed in the quake.
11:30 AM – Visit to the Mosque
Enjoy an exterior visit to one of Agadir’s iconic mosques. While mosques are not open to non-Muslims, you’ll have the opportunity to take photos and learn about their cultural and religious significance in Morocco.
12:00 PM – Visit to the Argan Cooperative
Discover the famed Argan tree, endemic to this region of Morocco. The cooperative will give you insight into the production of Argan oil, which is not only a culinary delight but also known for its cosmetic and medicinal properties. Learn about the cultural importance of Argan oil and its UNESCO recognition. You’ll also have the option to try a relaxing Argan oil massage (additional service available upon request).
12:30 PM – Boat Cruise (Optional)
For those interested in seeing Agadir from the sea, embark on a boat cruise along the coastline. Enjoy stunning views of the beaches, cliffs, and the city from the water, and relax as you take in the fresh ocean breeze. The cruise is optional and can be customized based on time and guest preference.
