Wildlife Safari in 4×4 : Souss Massa National Park & Atlantic Coast
Full-Day

Souss Massa 1 days Excursion
Overview

Embark on a full-day 4×4 adventure across the Souss Massa National Park, the Atlantic coastline, and the Little Sahara. Discover protected animal reserves, desert landscapes, coastal villages, and rare wildlife—including endangered species being reintroduced to their native habitats.

Highlights

  • Wildlife Reserves “Rokein” & “Arrouais”
Explore two fully fenced and protected wildlife reserves—Rokein (2,000 ha) and Arrouais (1,200 ha)—managed by the Souss Massa National Park. These reserves support reintroduction programs for species native to the Sahara, helping them recover and thrive in conditions close to the wild.

In Reserve Rokein, you may encounter:

  • Addax Antelope – Critically endangered, adapted to desert migration.
  • Dama Gazelle – The largest and fastest gazelle, capable of running over 100 km/h.
  • Red-Necked Ostrich – The largest bird on Earth, extinct in Morocco since 1945, now reintroduced.

In Reserve Arrouais:

  • Scimitar-Horned Oryx – A majestic antelope with meter-long horns, extinct in the wild in Morocco since 1973.
  • Dorcas Gazelle – Small, social gazelle, threatened by poaching.
  • Visit to Tifnit Coastal Village(Photo Stop)
Though now cleared due to unauthorized construction, the area offers breathtaking ocean views, small fishing boats, and wild beaches. Take a short walkalong the Atlantic shore.
  • Scenic Drive on the Atlantic Track
Enjoy a 20 km off-road segment following the coastline to Sidi Rbat, driving through a remote, unspoiled landscape of dunes and cliffs.
  • Troglodyte Fishermen's Homes(Now Demolished)
Former cave dwellings carved into the cliffs once sheltered fishermen; while no longer inhabited, the site remains a striking viewpoint over the ocean. A tea break in the area offers a moment of relaxation amid natural beauty.
  • Souss Massa Estuary & Birdwatching
Stop at the Massa River mouth, a Ramsar-listed wetland and crucial site for migratory birds. The highlight here is the Northern Bald Ibis, one of the world’s rarest birds, with fewer than 500 individuals remaining in the wild—mostly in this park. This green oasis contrasts sharply with the surrounding desert, creating a unique and peaceful landscape.
