Step back in time and uncover the hidden treasures of Morocco on this full-day excursion from Marrakech. Explore the serene Ouirgane Valley and the historic Tinmel Mosque—one of the only mosques in Morocco open to non-Muslims—set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Atlas Mountains.
Tour Highlights
Your journey begins in Marrakech as you head south into the majestic High Atlas Mountains. After a scenic two-hour drive through traditional Berber villages and rugged landscapes, you’ll arrive in the tranquil Ouirgane Valley, nestled in the red Azzaden region.
Follow the Nfiss River as it winds past dammed lakes and a hydroelectric station, then continue toward the Ijoukak region—home to the descendants of the Almohad dynasty. Here, authentic adobe and stone villages dot the hillsides, surrounded by orchards and fertile fields. In spring, almond blossoms bring the valleys to life in a spectacular display.
In the village of Ijoukak, you'll have the chance to visit a local pottery workshop that uses the area's distinctive red clay.
